September 2024: Celebrating Student Parent Month

September is National Student Parent Month, a time when colleges and universities across the nation are recognizing the unique challenges faced by student parents who juggle education, work, and family life. North Central is dedicated to honoring and supporting student parents with a series of events designed to bring families to campus, offer valuable resources, and foster a sense of community.

A Month of Family-Friendly Events

Family Back to School Celebration – September 13, 2024, 5—7 p.m.

Bring your family to the ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ campus for an evening of fun and entertainment! This event will feature pizza, games, and a 6 p.m. performance by Chet Mitchell, juggling extraordinaire. Held outside the ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ library, this event is the perfect way to kick off the school year with your loved ones​.

Student Parent Workshop – September 18, 2024, 12—1 p.m.

Hosted in the ECE Building, this workshop is designed specifically for student parents looking for resources and support. Lunch is provided, and children are welcome. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about campus resources that can help you navigate college life while managing your family responsibilities, all while connecting with other student parents.

Student Parent Family Night Volleyball Game – September 26, 2024, 5:30—8:30 p.m.

Enjoy a fun night out with your family at the SCRC! The evening starts with a free dinner and kids' activities at 5:30 p.m., followed by a volleyball game from 6:30—8:30 p.m. It’s a great way for student parents and their families to relax and enjoy an evening on campus.

Student Parent Mocktails and Connect – September 27, 2024, 5—7 p.m.  RESCHEDULED: DATE TBA

Unwind with fellow student parents at our Mocktails and Connect event in the BLC Student Commons. Enjoy complimentary mocktails and hors d'oeuvres while your kids are treated to pizza and free childcare in the ECE Building. This is a great opportunity to build connections with other parents while enjoying a relaxing evening on campus.
